Scientism is not a religion, because scientism does not practice doctrine, nor does it operate by way of dogmata. (This is also why the whole “Jesus isn’t my religion, he’s my savior”, et al, don’t work. But that’s for another day.) Not everything can be understood; this is true. But just because I don’t always know what is, does not mean that I can’t and don’t know what is not. Critical thinking would show religion as something unnecessary in this regard, as it doesn’t provide valid, legitimate answers to the questions that we are asking. It is possible to both accept the mysteries of the universe, and reject the failed attempts that religion has made at answering them, and I reckon that might be a nice place to find oneself.  End rant.  you are wise.
